David Carnell

Goalkeeper Also plays for: Past Players
Previous clubs: Curzon Ashton, Stalybridge Celtic
Biography: One of several players who followed manager Gary Lowe from Curzon Ashton to Hyde in the summer of 2011, David is currently in his second spell with the Tigers, having started the 2006 – 2007 season at Ewen Fields. And to the supporters’ delight, he’s returned a much better goalkeeper.

A good shot-stopper and reliable on crosses and high balls into the box, David’s performances as an ever-present behind a solid back line contributed to an incredible 20 clean sheets during the 2011 – 2012 Blue Square Bet North championship-winning season.

While at Curzon, David was instrumental in the club’s 8 game run to the FA Cup second round in 2008, which included a famous 3 – 2 win against League Two side Exeter City, and he’s also turned out for Oldham Town and local rivals Stalybridge Celtic.

Left the club beginning December 2013 to join Curzon Ashton
