Chorley vs Hyde preview

3 years ago By Liam Kelly

Hyde travel to Victory Park on Saturday, home of Chorley who currently sit fourth in the league, only five points off top spot.

After another defeat on the road last week at Harrogate Town, Scott and his players will be looking for a better start compared to the one away at Harrogate which saw The Tigers 2-0 down inside the opening ten minutes. Tom Bentham, Luke Giverin and Kelvin Lomax were all missing against Harrogate due to injuries so they could be back for this weekend’s game.

Garry Flitcroft’s men won on Tuesday night at home to Stockport County, beating The Hatters 3-0 thanks to goals from Adam Roscoe and a brace from joint top goal scorer Darren Stephenson.

Despite that midweek victory, Chorley’s recent form shows two wins (3-0 vs Stockport County & 4-3 away at Gainsborough Trinity), two defeats (3-1 away Solihull Moors & 1-2 vs Boston United, and two draws in their last six games (0-0 away at Boston United and the other of those draws, 3-3 against Hyde last month).

That 3-3 draw was the first time the two clubs had met since a friendly in 2010, in which Chorley ran out 4-3 winners. In competitive matches, the last time Hyde faced the Magpies was ten years ago, and on that occasion Chorley weere victorious again, winning by a goal to nil.
