OSSETT ALBION FC 0-3 HYDE UNITED FC

Strong finish from developing squad

OSSETT ALBION FC 0-3 HYDE UNITED FC

Unbelievable after 48 hours without rain the pitch was dryer than a gnats chuff and more bobbly than a teenagers skin, which would explain why Ossett obviously train hard to keep the ball away from it for as long as possible in the 90 minutes.

Hyde set up in a 4-4-2. Paddy Miller returned after three games for his trip, along side James Burke who was also returning after collecting cards. Top scorer Beadle missing through illness, meaning Leon Osborne and Omry Perel played up top with Christopher Sutherland and Lawrance Hunter on the wings.

The opening 45 minutes was ugly. The only time the ball didn't bobble was when it was being fired over Hyde players heads by the Ossett back line, much to the increasing frustration of their No.9. Hyde were dominant and in control of the game, and it was no surprise when they broke the deadlock with a strong chase down the channel by Christopher Sutherland who outmuscled the Ossett left back before driving into the box and cutting back for Omry Perel to open his account for the Tigers.

HT 1-0 HYDE UNITED FC

The half time team talk reinforced the need for quality, to keep it tight and to try to get the early goal to settle the game. Six minutes into the second half and good work by Sutherland and Big Khamsuk down the right, with Big cutting into the right hand edge of the box, striking a fantastic cross to the back post with the ball bouncing back off the inside of the post for Leon Osborne to fire home from the middle of the goal. 2-0 Tigers

Hyde were now in complete control, and managing possession well allowing Darren to bring on Matthew Dempsey to replace Big Khamsuk on 62 minutes followed by Peter Boyle for Omry Perel on 79 minutes and the young Tiger was soon making it 3-0 running on to a through ball and Boyles sweet shot across the keeper on the half volley. 3-0

With time running out, Academy U18s captain Lewis Haydock replaced Lawrance Hunter and the Tigers ran out the clock to claim a well deserved 3 points and a clean sheet on the road.

FT 0-3 HYDE UNITED FC

Hyde are 2nd in the form tables for the second half of the season, and this squad can be extremely proud of their points return since Christmas day. With a fantastic team spirit and an atmosphere of winning at Hyde, we can look forward to a strong finish over the remaining five games of the season, and further ahead to the 2017-2018 season with a huge amount of optimism.
