Tigers on the prowl

HYDE UNITED FC 3 - 0 KENDAL TOWN FC

Hyde are full of confidence and went in to the game knowing a win would move them above the visitors, and would keep up the forward momentum the side have been picking up since the Christmas period.

With a fully fit squad offering Darren the chance to pick a strong starting eleven with plenty of quality on the bench, the team looked confident as the Referee blew to start the game.

The Tigers were fast out of the blocks, getting early possession of the ball, and playing in the Kendal half. Four minutes in and a good ball forward to Big Khamsuk on the left allowed him to cut inside playing a square pass along the edge of the box which Laurence Bell ran on to driving into the D and firing an exquisite right footed pass into the top left hand corner of the Kendal goal. 1-0 Hyde

Two mintes later and Hyde doubled their lead when the hard working Lawrance Hunter who picked up the ball with a fantastic bit of control before putting a pinpoint cross to Matthew Beadle at the back post who volleyed home. 2-0 Hyde

Two minutes later and Jamal Branker nearly made it three, forcing a mistake with the Kendal player hitting a clearance against him before chasing down the ball and hammering a shot past the keeper, which hit the inside of the post and flashed across the face of the goal.

HT 2-0 HYDE UNITED FC

It was important for Hyde that they didn't give Kendal any opportunity to get a foothold in the game, and they managed this fantastically well, with Paddy Miller and Harry Coates imperious at the centre of defence supported by the outstanding Kyle Harrison & James Burke.

Hyde controlled the ball and the game, and looked solid without forgetting about the importance of playing forward. The midfield partnership of Laurence Bell and Janni Lipka broke up play when Kendal had the ball and always looked composed playing forward, with four willing and talented players ahead to pick out.

Hyde created several chances, with some real quality and attacking flare. On 80 minutes Pete Boyle came on for Jamal Branker and Ryan Ellison replaced Big Khamsuk, and the Tigers pushed on to score their third putting the game to bed. A 60 yard pass from Paddy Miller played from the left back position, cleared the Kendal back line and Matthew Beadle ran onto the ball on the left hand edge of the box firing it home first time on the half volley into the bottom left of the Kendal Goal

Oliver Ford replaced Lawrance Hunter on 87 minutes and almost scored his first league goal for the Tigers picking up a return pass in the box from Boyle before forcing a good save from the Kendal keeper.

FT 3-0 HYDE UNITED FC

The Tigers moved up one place to 13th and are now just 10 points away from a play off spot, with a game in hand on Colne who currently occupy that position.

Burscough away next week, which will need full concentration from the Boys, but with most of the teams above Hyde playing three games over the coming 14 days, we should have a much better idea of where we stand before the home tie against Farsley Celtic on Saturday 4th March.

These are positive and exciting times for Hyde fans, and the Management team and playing squad should be very proud of their performances over the past 8 weeks.
