HYDE UNITED FC 2 - 0 TADCASTER ALBION

Opening day win for the new look Tigers

Hyde scored one in each half and kept a clean sheet in this EvoStik curtain raiser, and overall they can be pleased with the performance.

Hyde set up in a 3-5-2 with an experienced back line playing in front of Dylan Forth making his debut in goal for the Tigers. Hyde were on the front foot from the start, with good possession and a direct approach getting the ball up to the forwards and causing the Tadcaster defence some early problems. Tadcaster are a decent group, and they worked their way into the game, starting to get on the ball in midfield after seeing out the opening 10 minutes. Hyde still looked a threat and with the Tadcaster back four dropping off, Phil Dean picked up the ball in the inside left channel, pulling the trigger from 25 yards with a strong drive into the Tadcaster goal. 1-0 Hyde.

The remaining 15 minutes were fairly even with Tadcaster firing two good free kick chances wide, and a lovely save from Forth in the Hyde goal just before the break.

HT 1-0 Hyde

The second half was more one sided, with Hyde looking to exploit the spaces which appeared as the opposition legs tired, although the best chance of the half fell to the Tadcaster number 7 (Youhill) who beat the offside to run clear only to have the ball taken off his toe by the Hyde keeper as he prepared to pull the trigger. They forced another good save 5 minutes later, when a driven corner looked to be falling onto the number 9s forehead until Forth stretched out an arm and flicked it away.

Three minutes later, and Hyde made Tadcaster pay doubling their lead, when a quick break from the edge of their own box sent Dean free down the right, he delayed his cross, and picked out the ever youthful Amadi at the back posts who made no mistake from 5 yards with his head. 2-0 and Hyde took charge of the final 20 as Tadcaster stopped pressing and instead dropped into shape, leaving Hyde with lots of space and possession. Hyde really should have added a couple more from Phil Dean, who ran into the box before dragging his shot wide, Matt Dempsey who forced a good low save from the Taddy keeper and and substitute Brice Wassi who did everything right except finding the back of the nett. The ref called full time after 5 minutes of injury time.

FULL TIME 2-0 Hyde

The first opening day win for the Tigers for five years, and a reward for this excellent squad who have worked hard over pre season to earn these points. My MOM Andy Pearson who did exactly what was asked of him from the first to the last minute.
