3 points for Allan

HYDE UNITED FC 4 - 0 CLITHEROE

Hyde remembered one of their loyal fans with a minutes silence before kick off held for Allan Brookes who sadly passed last week.

The Tigers then went on to make sure they picked up the 3 points with a scintillating display of high intensity football and clinical finishing.

The players work rate was off the chart. They simply did not give Clitheroe a moments peace at any time in the game, and in the opening 20 minutes the players closed down the space and the ball with speed and desire. Clitheroe really didn't have a moment where they could settle and try to get any rhythm. In possession Hyde were equally decisive. From the very start they looked to play forward. Luke Porritt and Tom Pratt ran at their fullbacks getting the ball in the box, and Dominic Marie and David Brown looked to get in behind at every opportunity.

On 17 minutes the Tigers were rewarded with their opening goal. A free kick fired into the Clitheroe box by Paddy Miller from just inside the Tigers half dropped onto the head of Tyrone Gay, showing his strength as he was man handled on the penalty spot, and he managed to flick the ball off the back of his head and it looped over the stranded Clithero keeper and into the net giving him his first goal for the Tigers. 1-0 Hyde and a celebration to remember from big Tyrone as he swallow dived infront of the main stand.

13 minutes later and Hyde doubled their lead when a well worked set piece corner had the ball fired in by Janni Lipka to Paddy Miller who managed to generate an unbelievable amount of power to fire a bullet header into the far corner of the Clitheroe goal. 2-0 Hyde

HT 2-0 HYDE UNITED

Clitheroe were out of the dressing rooms early, and clearly they would be looking for an early reply but in truth Hyde were even more dominant in the second half. The work rate in the opening 15 minutes was clear to see, and they forced Clitheroe to surrender the ball and onto the back foot.

On 62 minutes Dominic Marie cleverly bent his run and ran clear onto a Tom Pratt through ball before giving the keeper the eyes and firing home from the edge of the box. 3-0 Hyde

Dom then grabbed his second on 73 minutes, heading a ball from James Burke into his path before out pacing the Clitheroe defence and opening his body up to fire the ball under the outrushing keepers boDy and into the far corner of the goal. 4-0 Hyde United

The remaining 15 minutes were all Hyde, and they could have scored a couple more through Dom Marie, Big Khamsuk and Karl Jones if the pass into them had been slightly better.

FULL TIME 4-0 HYDE UNITED

Following last weeks disappointing result at South Shields the squad have taken the bull by the horns and picked up 6 points, scoring six and conceding none. With Bamber Bridge drawing, Hyde moved up to third in the table, and will be looking to cement their promotion push with maximum points against Colne (H), Ossett Town (A), South Shields (H), Kendal (H) and Bamber Bridge (A) in February. On their current form, and with confidence riding high it would be no surprise if they managed this.

The squad is also looking strong and over the coming week Matthew Beadle should be back to full fitness and Chris Sutherland has now been treated for a long standing injury to his big toe and will be injury free going into the final 17 league games of the season and his return will start with a run out on Monday in the Cup.
