HYDE UNITED FC 4-0 ASHTON UNITED FC

2 months ago By Mark Worthington

We look ready so let's get started.

HYDE UNITED FC 4-0 ASHTON UNITED FC

Hyde rounded off a well planned and excellently delivered pre season program with a resounding victory against Premier League opposition, scoring four goals and keeping a clean sheet.

The squad look strong and full of confidence. With competition for places in every position in the starting 11, the boys know that they have to work hard in training and games if they are going to remain at Hyde as we look to start a season with realistic thoughts of achieving positive things.

The eleven who kicked off the opening period against Ashton did exactly this. They pressed high, looked well organised and kept Ashton pinned in their own half. It was no suprise to anyone when Hyde won and converted a penalty, with Pete Boyle stepping up to take responsibility slotting away his sixth goal of pre season.

Hyde controlled the full period but almost paid the price for switching off as the half time whistle approached with Ashton slotting home a well taken goal which was fortunately flagged off side.

HT 1-0 HYDE UNITED FC

The second half continued with Hyde in control, and although the multiple substitutions made by both sides effected the game in the middle of the half with play getting a bit sloppy, it was Hyde who grabbed hold of the game scoring three times in the final 15 minutes through Adam Baker (2) and David Brown.

FT 4-0 HYDE UNITED FC

The hard work put in by Darren and his back room staff in designing the pre season program, has clearly paid dividends with all players looking fit, sharp & confident.

Ewen Fields is a fantastic place to be at the moment, with a positive atmosphere around the ground and a real sense that we can look to climb back up to where we believe we should be.

See you all at Scarborough on the 12th.
