ACADEMY PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
The Academy has enhanced its offer for the season 2017-2018 with a range of leagues and teams to ensure all players have the ability to progress and achieve excellence.
The ultimate aim of the Academy is to develop boys and girls to enable them to fulfill their potential in sport, Academically & Practically.
To ensure we offer a range of development opportunities we have entered a number of new leagues this year.
The girls will play in a midweek development 6v6 league on Wednesday afternoons along side open aged football on Sunday afternoons in the Greater Manchester Women's League where they have opened their campaign with two wins scoring 14 and conceding 2
The boys have entered a new midweek league which will push their development. The U19s National Youth Football League contains full time development centre teams from pro clubs like Birmingham City, Coventry City and Sunderland. The Academy will play in this league as Rochdale FC Development Centre managed by Brett Issitt. They opened their account yesterday with a 2-3 away WIN at Coventry City.
We will also have a team in the U19s National Conference Youth League, managed by Gaz Prendergast, playing against Gateshead, FC United and AFC Fylde.
Finally we have entered the U19s English Colleges Football League playing as Abbey Hey FC against local north west college teams.
On Sunday we have two Hyde United FC teams in the North West Youth Alliance Premier and Division 2
The ultimate progression for the boys is from one of these youth teams through to the Hyde United FC Reserves managed by Ian Worthington and coached during the week by Darren Kelly & David McGurk where boys can look to impress and make the step up to first team football.
