19-04-08  I am afraid the minibus has had to be cancelled due to a combination of lack of numbers and some fans wanting the minibus to set off at an unrealistically early time.
I have spoken to Luke Edwards today regarding transport arrangements generally for next year. Luke is Transport Manager for The Supporters' Club. He is currently the only person willing and old enough to drive a minibus when it is decided to put one on.
The last minibus Luke organised was to Burscough. And whilst there are likely to be minibuses to away games next season, it needs to be appreciated how much of a commitment it is for Luke to arrange them and do the driving himself.
An alternative to minibuses could be to set up a travel club involving coach travel to (say) fifteen away games next season. This idea is currently being explored, and charges will be announced. Monies could be payable annually or quarterly. The key to this is clearly sufficient numbers of people being prepared to sign up. More details will be announced shortly.

17-04-08  In reply to Mr. Russell, the poster you have a concern with is on the unofficial site.  As you obviously read the unofficial site, may I politely suggest that you put your concerns to the poster in question on the ACTUAL site the comment was made upon, then you can get a reply from them. Also writing sweeping generalisations such as "is Hyde United full of political extremists?" based on the statements of ONE person that you disagree with hardly places you as the ideal arbitor of moral issues either, but perhaps we could continue the discussion on the unofficial site in a more appropriate forum. As well as a disastrous afternoons football it seems that we couldn't even organise a simple show of respect for a once great Hyde player.  Its very disappointing as won't have another chance because we have no more home games. 04-04-08   I was very sad to hear the news that Freddie Pye had passed away, and would like to pass on my sincere condolences to his family. I and my family have good reason to remember Freddie for playing in and supporting a charity football event in the sixties. I remember Freddie at Hyde  as a hard but fair tackling player who probably would have received a few red ones had he been playing today. I sincerely hope that we offer and observe the customary silent send off on Saturday, he deserves it. Alan Royston
04-04-08   Tomorrow is the final home league game of the season replica kits will be available to buy at the knockdown price of just £5.  All three colours are available in most sizes from small to XXL.  Kits will be on sale in the Social Club before and after the match, and the main Club Shop will re-open for business again next season. 29-03-08  I am pleased to confirm that the theme of this year's main Supporters' Club Sponsored Walk will be "Wolves to Tigers". It will start at Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and end at Ewen Fields.

It was originally intended that the Sponsored Walk would be another "Tiger to Tiger", this time involving Gloucester City FC. Gloucester City have a number of off the field challenges at the moment, the main one being not knowing where they will be playing next season. As a result, their Supporters' Club could not commit to joining us in the Walk.

The "Wolves to Tigers" Sponsored Walk will start on Friday 25th July and finish late morning on Saturday 26th July. The route of seventy miles takes in Wolverhampton, Stafford, Stone, Meir (Stoke-on-Trent), Leek, Macclesfield, Hazel Grove and Hyde. Walkers will take part on a relay basis as previous years. Thank you to Alan Kenyon, who has very kindly offered to pay for the diesel for the minibus.

It has been agreed that the majority of the money generated by the Walk will go towards repainting Ewen Fields over the Summer.

  22-03-08  in reply to Michael Evans i am a season ticket holder i go home and away and people will not pay £10 pound and £4 to watch non-league football when it is only £5 pound to get in at manchseter city and stockport county.It is ridiculous paying that amount of money. we should do more for kids like free entry with an adult or under 16, then as young supporters like me become adults they will be true fans.

20-03-08  I don't wish to climb on any bandwaggon that suggests Mr Waywell should resign, that would be grossly unfare. We should all remember our position when he took over the reigns. We've done reasonably well under his stewardship and all managers go through these times. Basically all the players should shoulder the responsibility for the position they are now in, as well as the manager. I'm not privvy to what goes on behind the scenes, or how players react under certain situations, I just turn up as a spectator. Its not been nice to watch for a while now, but our day will come, of that I'm sure.

16-03-08  Well we can forget about the play offs now! Hyde are not playing at the standard they should be. Again today they  gave the ball away far to easily. I feel for the defence, they can only do so much, they get too much stick for me. Hyde's midfield is the problem they can't even put two passes together plus their final ball is poor. Also this long ball Hyde keep playing isn't getting anywhere. I think we play some attractive football on the ground I just don't understand what's gone wrong! Hyde were doing great at one point, we can't say we don't have the players - we have some of the best in our league. I think we need another two strong players in midfield or why not play Chris Lynch in midfield again? I remember watching him play in midfield against Macclesfield and he was superb in that position. I believe he played in midfield for Wigan,.why has Dale Johnson gone to Droylsden?? Get him back asap! Let's give Steve and staff some support and get behind em. 11-03-08  Can't believe we have let Dale go to Droylsden when we need him at Ewan Fields. He should have been in the starting 11 every week as he always gives 100%. Maybe players like Seddon should have been sitting on the bench instead who disappears in a game if its not going well.

03-03-08   Thank goodness we scored the amount we did on Saturday, if it was up to our Cameroon International we could quite easily have been beaten. I've heard people criticise our usual keeper but quite honestly he is miles better between the sticks than JP. I know circumstances force certain things on a team, but I do hope Craig recovers quickly. JP may be a nice bloke, but unfortunately he worried us and the defence to death on Saturday. Alan Royston
02-03-08    Just a view - the most successful teams have a blend that works rather than 'best individuals'. Years ago Hyde sold George Oghani (who later went on to get Man of The Match for Bolton at Wembley - I digress!) who was streets ahead of anyone else, not just at Hyde but in non-league football as a whole.
The sale was in the week before a qualifying FA Cup game against Runcorn who were then high and mighty Conference team and firm favourites to win the tie; with or without Oghani playing.
Every 'average' Hyde player played as though their lives depended on it - result a 3-0 win and red faces all round for supporters who were criticising the Club for letting Oghani go!
Moral is that the best individual does not always merit inclusion; this is not aimed at Clee (who in my opinion is not the best Hyde player, is one footed and disappears for chunks of the game)or Seddon/Tipton (where effort and commitment can at times be questioned?)but a statement of fact.
Remember Utd dumping Arsenal recently with Ronaldo on the terraces ??
