21-04-08 I have 2 Cup Final tickets for sale @ £95 each or £60 each. They must be used by the person who buys them and you have to sign to agree to the FA terms and Conditions. If sold on, they become invalid. Payment must be made immediately. Anybody interested should call me or leave a private message via this website. Tony Beard 19-04-08 I am afraid the minibus has had to be cancelled due to a combination of lack of numbers and some fans wanting the minibus to set off at an unrealistically early time. I have spoken to Luke Edwards today regarding transport arrangements generally for next year. Luke is Transport Manager for The Supporters' Club. He is currently the only person willing and old enough to drive a minibus when it is decided to put one on. The last minibus Luke organised was to Burscough. And whilst there are likely to be minibuses to away games next season, it needs to be appreciated how much of a commitment it is for Luke to arrange them and do the driving himself. An alternative to minibuses could be to set up a travel club involving coach travel to (say) fifteen away games next season. This idea is currently being explored, and charges will be announced. Monies could be payable annually or quarterly. The key to this is clearly sufficient numbers of people being prepared to sign up. More details will be announced shortly. James Brindley Acting Supporters' Club Chairman 18-04-08 There has been a mini bus organised for the Boston game. See James Brindley either at the Solihull game or on the unofficial forum.. Grimmy 17-04-08 In reply to Mr. Russell, the poster you have a concern with is on the unofficial site. As you obviously read the unofficial site, may I politely suggest that you put your concerns to the poster in question on the ACTUAL site the comment was made upon, then you can get a reply from them. Also writing sweeping generalisations such as "is Hyde United full of political extremists?" based on the statements of ONE person that you disagree with hardly places you as the ideal arbitor of moral issues either, but perhaps we could continue the discussion on the unofficial site in a more appropriate forum. Chris Hilton 17-04-08 Solihull coach Still a few places left - please liaise with Luke Edwards if you wish to travel. The coach will depart at 11.45am from the ground with a pick-up at Broomstairs only. Tony 17-04-08 A few weeks ago I saw on your supporters' website that Big Stripey Cat was peddling anti-Jewish tags on his postings. Now he (she?)'s accusing Americans of murder. Is Hyde United full of political extremists? Richard Russell 17-04-08 Just been talking with a few other hyde fans and we were saying that we were thinking of getting a mini bus early on in the day so that we could watch the man utd vs chelsea game when we get down their. Any one else interested? Chris Grimshaw Anybody that is interested should either reply on here or on the un-official forum. Chris Grimshaw 16-04-08 My last time with Freddie Pye was at my home in Naples Florida,I just want to say "what a guy" a man"s man who's kindness puts us all to shame and there will never be another Freddie, I will never forget my dear friend. Arthur Corry 14-04-08 If Steve Waywell wants the season to finish quick can we see some reserves in the team instead of the senior citizens non achievers who hopefully will not be retained for next season? These youngsters will hopefully be the future of the club and I don't want to hear that they are not good enough or too young and inexperienced after the constant shoddy performances from old experienced ex league players!!!! John Wilcockson 10-04-08 Is ther a mini bus going to the hinckley game on saturday? jack holland 07-04-08 What happened to the show of respect for Freddie Pye? As well as a disastrous afternoons football it seems that we couldn't even organise a simple show of respect for a once great Hyde player. Its very disappointing as won't have another chance because we have no more home games. Its nice to know that at least one club managed it, Stockport County. Alan Royston 04-04-08 I was very sad to hear the news that Freddie Pye had passed away, and would like to pass on my sincere condolences to his family. I and my family have good reason to remember Freddie for playing in and supporting a charity football event in the sixties. I remember Freddie at Hyde as a hard but fair tackling player who probably would have received a few red ones had he been playing today. I sincerely hope that we offer and observe the customary silent send off on Saturday, he deserves it. Alan Royston 04-04-08 Tomorrow is the final home league game of the season replica kits will be available to buy at the knockdown price of just £5. All three colours are available in most sizes from small to XXL. Kits will be on sale in the Social Club before and after the match, and the main Club Shop will re-open for business again next season. Chris Hilton 03-04-08 Just a quick one to let you know that Freddie Pye has passed on. RIP Freddie. Oli 30-03-08 Nice to see Nicky Clee back in the side.Should have been given the MOM award for is efforts in the Gainsborough game. Jake Henderson 29-03-08 I am pleased to confirm that the theme of this year's main Supporters' Club Sponsored Walk will be "Wolves to Tigers". It will start at Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and end at Ewen Fields. It was originally intended that the Sponsored Walk would be another "Tiger to Tiger", this time involving Gloucester City FC. Gloucester City have a number of off the field challenges at the moment, the main one being not knowing where they will be playing next season. As a result, their Supporters' Club could not commit to joining us in the Walk. The "Wolves to Tigers" Sponsored Walk will start on Friday 25th July and finish late morning on Saturday 26th July. The route of seventy miles takes in Wolverhampton, Stafford, Stone, Meir (Stoke-on-Trent), Leek, Macclesfield, Hazel Grove and Hyde. Walkers will take part on a relay basis as previous years. Thank you to Alan Kenyon, who has very kindly offered to pay for the diesel for the minibus. It has been agreed that the majority of the money generated by the Walk will go towards repainting Ewen Fields over the Summer. I will be giving out Sponsorship forms on Saturday. Would anyone who is interested in doing the Sponsored Walk come to see me in the Press Box on Saturday. .James Brindley 22-03-08 I think our season is over now after Barrow game can't wait for next season it has been a terrible 2nd half of a season Jack Holland 21-03-08 Unlucky today Hyde but u give us a good gome, Well done ! Barrow AFC's Loyalist 20-03-08 I don't wish to climb on any bandwaggon that suggests Mr Waywell should resign, that would be grossly unfare. We should all remember our position when he took over the reigns. We've done reasonably well under his stewardship and all managers go through these times. Basically all the players should shoulder the responsibility for the position they are now in, as well as the manager. I'm not privvy to what goes on behind the scenes, or how players react under certain situations, I just turn up as a spectator. Its not been nice to watch for a while now, but our day will come, of that I'm sure. Alan Royston 20-03-08 The unofficial website is now back up at http://www.eyeonthetigers.co.uk Thanks. Tom Fern 19-03-08 In Reply to Maurice Barrow is Good Friday, 21st March ko 3pm. Tony Beard 19-03-08 The attendance at hyde united is poor its why this club is under achiving more fans you get more motivited players are. The squard we got the we should least get into the play offs and seems unlikely now. The big misake was selling Dale Johnson to Droylsden. michael evans 19-03-08 To anyone asking about the Manchester Premier Cup - we will face Radcliffe in the final after they beat FC United 3-1. Tom Fern 19-03-08 MANCHESTER CUP SEMI FINAL FC UNITED 1 - 3 RADCLIFFE BOROUGH TIGER FEET 19-03-08 When is Barrow game?fixture list say`s Saturday, teletext say`s Friday. Maurice Field 18-03-08 FAO anyone who uses the unofficial website: to cut a long story short, we're down at the moment. No idea when we'll be back up, but keep on trying and I'll post another message on here when we know more! Tom Fern 16-03-08 another dissapointing season unlucky against kettering why let one referee decision get your head down it was a poor 2nd half performence and it definatly looks like another season in the conference north WAYWELL YOU NEED TO SORT IT OUT QUICKLY BECAUSE ME AND ALL THE SHED ARE GETTING FED UP OF POOR PERFORMANCES NO DESIRE AT ALL AND WE ARE WONDERING IF WAYWELL HAS GOT THE DRESSING ROOM. jack holland 16-03-08 16-03-08 13-03-08 and another player goes in Danny Warner, never given a chance at Hyde, prefer to play players out of position than rather a recognized left back!! Scott Boulter 11-03-08 Can't believe we have let Dale go to Droylsden when we need him at Ewan Fields. He should have been in the starting 11 every week as he always gives 100%. Maybe players like Seddon should have been sitting on the bench instead who disappears in a game if its not going well. Nigel Ollerenshaw 08-03-08 we lost ,another night to stop in and sulk,I will have to console myself with the thought we will win next time. The optomist. w birkett 07-03-08 In reply to Paul Woods When the other semi-final between FC United and Radcliffe Borough the final date and venue will be decided. I think it will be early-to-mid April though. Scott Talbot 06-03-08 There will be highlights of Hyde v Hucknall on The Great Manchester Football Show on Channel M SKY 203 Friday @ 7pm and repeated at 11pm. 06-03-08 when and where is the mpc final? Paul Woods 06-03-08 Date of Les Sutton do is, of course, Monday, March 31 - not March 30 as in my previous posting. Mike Pav 03-03-08 There is a minibus booked for the game at Burscough on Saturday. The bus will leave Ewen Fields at 12:45 and cost £7 It will stop at Asda in Hyde and leave at 12:55 and Broomstairs at 13:05 and maybe near Morrisons in Denton as well should their be anyone wanting to get on their. Anyone wishing to go on can e-mail me at luke.ledwards@btinternet.com Please help support this! Luke Edwards 03-03-08 Thank goodness we scored the amount we did on Saturday, if it was up to our Cameroon International we could quite easily have been beaten. I've heard people criticise our usual keeper but quite honestly he is miles better between the sticks than JP. I know circumstances force certain things on a team, but I do hope Craig recovers quickly. JP may be a nice bloke, but unfortunately he worried us and the defence to death on Saturday. Alan Royston 02-03-08 Just a view - the most successful teams have a blend that works rather than 'best individuals'. Years ago Hyde sold George Oghani (who later went on to get Man of The Match for Bolton at Wembley - I digress!) who was streets ahead of anyone else, not just at Hyde but in non-league football as a whole. The sale was in the week before a qualifying FA Cup game against Runcorn who were then high and mighty Conference team and firm favourites to win the tie; with or without Oghani playing. Every 'average' Hyde player played as though their lives depended on it - result a 3-0 win and red faces all round for supporters who were criticising the Club for letting Oghani go! Moral is that the best individual does not always merit inclusion; this is not aimed at Clee (who in my opinion is not the best Hyde player, is one footed and disappears for chunks of the game)or Seddon/Tipton (where effort and commitment can at times be questioned?)but a statement of fact. Remember Utd dumping Arsenal recently with Ronaldo on the terraces ?? David Thomason |
