BIG WEEK REVIEWED
The first team started the week with a fantastic win in The FA Cup replay against Warrington Town FC in front of a crowd of 424 official with an extra 26 mascots from our U12s taking it to a round 450.
They followed this up with a decent display drawing 1-1 against a strong Ossett Town side with a fantastic crowd of 378 inn the ground meaning a total of 828 people watched the Tigers this week.
We now have two training sessions to prepare the squad for a Q3 FA Cup tie away at Boston Town on Saturday 30th September.
On Wednesday we played two sides in the Nation Youth League U19s and Conference Youth League achieving fantastic results beating Crystal Palace FC 3-0 and Chorley FC 2-1
On Friday evening we fielded two sides in the FA Youth Cup with the Hyde United FC team winning 3-1 against a strong Stockport Town FC in front of 75 spectators and the U17s playing as Abbey Hey FC seeing off a competitive Ashton Town FC Academy side in front of 45 at the AbbeyStad.
The boys ran out at 14:30 today and had mixed results with the 18s loosing out 5-2 to Prescott Cables Academy. Never an easy game, made much harder when you have played twice in the previous 88 hours. They did however stick to their task scoring twice in the final ten minutes to show that the hard work done on fitness is paying off.
The 17s worked hard against local rivals Stalybridge Celtic and overcame a 1-1 half time suorline to run out 4-1 winners.
The Tameside United Ladies FC team had another weekend off, but will prepare for a return to action at home to Swinton Ladies FC on Sunday 1st at 12:30 at Ewen Fields.
